Apples, apples everywhere
Oct. 1st, 2007 12:42 pmI spent much of yesterday cutting up wormy apples to save the good bits and freezing some, making applesauce of more. All in all it was about 50 pounds of apples I think. I gave a bag of good apples to my neighbors, which made their kids very happy, and another to some friends, but there are still apples everywhere. So if you see me anytime in the near future, expect to get some apple bread.
A friend from work, whom I was giving a ride home from the train station on Friday brought in a bag of nice, fresh apples from his tree for me. We were reminiscing about childhood days cutting up windfall apples (or pears) to make pies, and it ended with me offering to take some.
